Membership and Fee Structure

We offer the following simple membership structure:

All of our members become Shareholders of the Co-operative: Membership is open to any resident of the Killick Coast North region who supports our values, vision, mission, and purpose. One-time payment of $10 per person will buy you a share of the co-operative (refundable upon cancellation of your membership) and allow you to fully participate in the governance of our co-operative (decision-making, voting, election to the board of directors). You will also receive ourMemberNews. In addition, shareholders need to also subscribe to one of the following subscription levels:

Social Services Subscription

$45per person

With an annual subscription fee, you will have access to all social member services as described here

Benefits for Social Members

$120per person

With an annual subscription fee, you will have access to all social and full services as described here (early adopter bonus: if you decide to join us in 2024, this payment will maintain your membership until the end of 2025).

Considering the current minimum wage in NL ($15.60 per hour), if you benefit from services of only 1 hour duration per month (e.g., a return trip to St. John’s with a volunteer driver), you would already have spent over $180 in one year; let alone if you did that trip with a taxi. We will add a more detailed table of cost savings through your membership in (y)our co-operative shortly!
